The only thing today really means to me is this film.
I expect that long ago when this film is set, the day would have had some charm, because back then most love was expressed though letters and hand kissing (no love making before marriage tsk tsk!) However now it has just become a big ugly gimmick. Sorry to be pessimistic. I don't mean to sound angry - I'm not - I just don't think people should be made to feel lonely and out of the loop just because they are 'single'.

I really believe that plain friendship can be just as, if not more special than romantic love, at least that's my experience so far. I have also recently found a great deal of happiness in respecting my self as a talented independent person. I used to believe that I needed a man to complete me but now I realise that no one can 'complete' you because you must complete yourself.

Anyhoo Picnic At Hanging Rock, if you haven't heard of it, is an iconic Australian film based on a novel by Joan Lindsay and is about a mysterious happening that occurs when a group of school girls visit Hanging Rock for a Valentines Day picnic. I find the cinematography in the film mesmerising. It is highly recommended.

Hope you had a lovely day, whatever you got up to!
